About Bump & Bolster
A ledger of what actually helps, written by one person who does the reading.

Who writes this
Bump & Bolster is owned and written by Selena H.. There is no editorial team, no contributor pool and no second byline — every page here was researched and written by the same person, which is also why the author box at the foot of every article says the same name.
She built the site around the problems pregnancy throws at you in the order they arrive: you cannot sleep, then your back and pelvis hurt, then nothing fits, then you are feeding, then you are recovering. That order is the navigation.
What this site does
It compares maternity and postpartum comfort products and tells you which one to buy for the specific problem you have. Every page opens with a table so the answer is on the first screen, and the prose underneath is the reasoning rather than a preamble.
Every claim about your body — what is causing the pain, what helps, how long something lasts, when to worry — is cited to a named authority on the claim itself. The sources are mostly ACOG, the NHS, MedlinePlus and the RCOG, and the URLs get re-checked rather than left to rot.
What this site does not do
We research products. We do not test them. Nobody here has worn, slept on or used the products on this site. There is no test lab, no tester panel and no sample cupboard. That is unusual to say out loud in this category, and it is the single most important thing to know about how to read the pages.
What that means in practice:
- The scores on this site are editorial judgments built from published specifications and from the patterns in what buyers consistently report. They are not measurements we took.
- Where a verdict could only come from using something — how a fabric feels after forty washes, whether a seam rubs — we either attribute it to buyers or we leave it out.
- You will not find “in our testing”, “we tried” or “after three months” anywhere on this site, because none of it would be true.
We also hold no medical credential of any kind. Nothing here is medical advice, no page diagnoses anything, and where a symptom warrants care the page says to contact your provider before it mentions a product.
The full method, including what we check and in what order, is on how we pick.
How the site makes money
Bump & Bolster is an Amazon Associate: As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy through a link here you pay exactly the same price, and a small commission comes to us from Amazon. Amazon is currently our only retailer.
We do not rank by commission rate, we do not accept free products in exchange for coverage, and nobody can pay for a position in a list. The full detail is on the affiliate disclosure page.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong, tell us and it gets fixed in place, with the page’s review date updated. That is the whole corrections policy and it is written out properly in the editorial policy.
